The first MH-18a I got came with the D200 and shipped with the EN-EL3e. The MH-18 and EN-EL3 only have two contacts, whereas the MH-18a and EN-EL3e have a third contact. IIRC this third contact is used to exchange data about the residual charge and why you get a percentage reading with the D200 and later cameras.

The expected D850 shutter life is 200,000. From your experience is the 200,000 conservative or should I factor in a shutter replacement, or just pray it lasts well over 220,000. Anybody have any shutter count data for the D850. Thanks in advance if anybody can help me decide.I charged both batteries and the D80 came to life. The D300 will not power on. No green light indicator when the battery is placed inside, nothing. I read some of the suggestions on the forum and followed those. But the SU-800 (Nikon or Debao) would definitely provide more range than your cameras built in flash as well as eliminating the visual flash (minuscule as it is) from showing up in your shot. Also should ever want to transition to a Pro level body (D3, D4, etc) you'd still have a way to control your flashes in CLS.
